The Values Assessment is a simple and very effective measuring instrument. It brings into vision people’s, teams’ and organizations’ drives. The Values Assessment basis is a carefully balanced and validated questionnaire, consisting of 20 questions with 140 options. We process a completed questionnaire into a ValuesProfile, which brings into vision your drives in an orderly, graphical way. It gives you an insight into what your drives are, hands-on and very practical. The Values Assessment is our organization’s basic instrument, which has helped thousands of people from different organizations to take important steps in their personal, team and / or organization development. The way we provide an insight into people’s drives, is based on the Values Systems’ model. This model resulted from American Professor Clare W. Graves’ research, which took place between 1952 and 1959. After years of scientific research, Prof. Graves in 1971 succeeded in revealing a clear pattern in human behavior under different circumstances. Basic idea is people’s thorough pursuit to respond adequately to their circumstances to survive, or to develop. It’s these patterns which determine our functioning, and it’s the underlying drives which determine how we deal with these circumstances. [Picture 1] A Values Assessment result gives an insight into your personal drives. Every person has a unique combination of drives and there is not one ideal combination of drives. In the most ideal situation, your drives meet your circumstances and you are able to respond adequately, in case these circumstances should change. There is no right or wrong, a Values Assessment is completely free from judgments.
When choosing for an integrated application of the Values Assessment in your organization, you can obtain all three different ValuesProfiles. The dynamics between the three profiles largely determines the organization’s functioning. Using the Values Profile, clear actions are offered for an effective development. The Values Assessment was originally developed for a work environment, but now is also available for use in a personal context. How does the Values Assessment work? Being introduced to the Values Assessment always occurs through one of your WM Partners. In a personal contact with you or someone within your organization, we assess if the Values Assessment can contribute to the goals set. If you decide to take a Values Assessment, you will receive a personal invitation to participate per email or letter. In this invitation, you will find a code which gives access to your personal Values Assessment. Every computer with internet connection (PC or Apple) has access. Our online systems are located on one of Holland’s most modern and best protected computer centers and is available 24/7. Completing the questionnaire will take about 20 minutes of your time. Your answers are processed by our systems, under strict privacy rules into a personal ValuesProfile. This profile contains a list of your preferences in the seven drives. This is illustrated by a histogram. This ValuesProfile contains an insight into your preferences in the seven drives. This is read in a histogram, which indicates your preference in drives per color. In a simple manner, the drives are presented in two histograms which provide you with pleasure (approaching drives) and which cost you energy (avoiding drives). The ValuesProfile is available on individual, team and organizational level. Application on team and organization level is possible under strict privacy rules, not recognizably indicating individual scores in any way. Your trainer or consultant will hand over your ValuesProfile, complete with an oral explanation. The ValuesProfile is available as a basic or an extended written report. A ValuesAssessment never comes alone, but is a means in order to get to something. Advise from one of our WM Partners is essential, in order for the Assessment to contribute to your objectives in an optimal way.
